Peter established Peak Projects in 1998 and brings to the company a broad international project management experience totalling 30 years of which 11 years was in China/Hong Kong with the remainder in Europe, Scandinavia and New Zealand.

Since setting up Peak Projects International, Peter has been involved in all of the projects listed in the projects section of this web site with an emphasis on airports, commercial development, infrastructure, wineries, and project reviews on behalf of lenders.

Prior to setting up Peak Projects, Peter headed up the project management section of a major international consultancy in Hong Kong. There he was responsible for the project management and project review of a variety of infrastructure and building projects in Hong Kong and China. Projects undertaken included breweries, pharmaceutical and manufacturing plants, and a number of buildings and facilities at Hong Kong's new international airport.

Now based in Queenstown New Zealand, Peter applies his expertise to the successful development of infrastructure, winery, airport and commercial building projects. Peter's specialist fields of activity are:

  • Project start-ups including the set-up of management systems, team organisations, quality systems, time and cost management tools.
  • Feasibility analysis, functional planning and design development for process and avaiation facilities.
  • Review of projects on behalf of owners and financial institutions.
  • Project management of privately financed infrastructure projects from bidding and financing through procurement, design and construction.

CHRIS BROWN

Chris joined Peak Projects in January 2017 and is currently managing the Gibbston Valley Winery accommodation project and the Wellsmart Thompson Street Hotel (135+ keys) as well as other commercial projects. He has just wrapped up the I-Fly Indoor Skydiving facility in Queenstown and some fitout projects.

Chris has a Masters of Engineering Management degree from Canterbury University and 12-years' experience in the management of industrial and commercial projects in New Zealand and the UK. Recent projects have included hospitals, industrial, process, accommodation and commercial throughout the South Island of New Zealand.


TIM HENRY

TIM HENRY,
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Tim has almost 20 years’ experience in a range of Project Management roles with 10 years’ of this working in the Middle East (Oman and United Arab Emirates). Born and raised in Wellington he is now based in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Tim has worked for project management and design consultancies and has represented private developers, investors and government authorities.  As a client representative, he has managed the process from master-planning through to construction including buildings and infrastructure.  He has experience in a diverse range of projects including hotels, retail, commercial, recreation (golf courses), military and residential developments and brings a wealth of knowledge to every project.

Tim is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has a Bachelor of Design degree from CIT, Wellington and a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from Manchester Business School.


CAMPBELL WHEELER

Campbell Wheeler joined Peak Projects in 2016 and manages several projects in the Wanaka and Cromwell areas as well as other Queenstown residential projects.  Campbell is a qualified builder and partially qualified QS with over 22 years' experience in the building industry.  The majority of Campbell's experience is in the residential sector with recent projects ranging from affordable housing developments to multi-million dollar homes.  Campbell has also managed two recent winery expansion projects and an office fit-out/building renovation in Queenstown.


PAUL WOODWARD

Paul joined Peak Projects in 2007 and is currently managing the Jucy Snooze Hotel construction and other commercial fit-out projects in Queenstown. He has previously managed a number of construction and fit-out projects including Invercargill Airport Terminal, Jacks Point Clubhouse, fit-outs at The Oak in Arrowtown, Queenstown Airport and an expansion project at Amisfield Winery, Lowburn.

Paul is a qualified builder and has over 11 years of self-employment experience and over 30 years' experience in the building industry. Prior to joining Peak Projects, Paul worked as an estimator and buyer for a major building materials company in Queenstown. Paul previously spent 3 years working for a Building Contractor on several large contracts including The Spire Hotel, Queenstown and several large residential projects.


DAVID STRETCH

DAVID STRETCH,

David joined Peak Projects in April 2015. He has been project managing mainly heavy industrial projects for 17 years which has taken him to the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. More recently David has been involved in high end residential and commercial projects in the Queenstown region. David originates from Southland, qualified as a Mining Engineer at Otago University and spent several years at the Tiwai Point smelter near Bluff before heading offshore.

David is currently managing the Glenorchy Market Place project and advising on several high-end residential projects.


REX JI

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Rex Ji joined Peak Projects in late 2012 after completing a Building Science degree in Project Management at Victoria University. Rex has been involved in a number of local projects and is well versed in the Queenstown Lakes District Council building consent submission process and compilation of construction programmes and contract documentation.

Rex has been extensively involved in the Invercargill Airport terminal and has managed several small projects for Remarkables Primary school and existing commercial building clients.

Taylor Garfield joined Peak Projects in 2017 to work exclusively on site for Camp Glenorchy. Taylor is currently office based assisting on various commercial and residential projects including Gibbston Valley Winery Accommodation & Wyuna Preserve.

Taylor has a dual degree in International Affairs and Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, USA


HEATHER BLACK

HEATHER BLACK,
OFFICE MANAGER

Heather joined Peak Projects in 2011 as Office Manager and PA to Peter Soundy and has a background in administration and management with consultant and contracting businesses.

Heather manages the day-to-day running of the office and maintains the project cost and document control systems.
