MANAGING DIRECTOR
Peter
W Soundy BE, MIPENZ
Peter established Peak Projects in 1998 and brings to the company a broad international project management
experience totalling 30 years of which 11 years was in China/Hong
Kong with the remainder in Europe, Scandinavia and New Zealand.
Since setting up Peak Projects International, Peter has been involved in all of the projects listed in the projects section of this
web site with an emphasis on airports, commercial development, infrastructure, wineries,
and project reviews on behalf of lenders.
Prior to setting up Peak Projects, Peter headed up the project management section of a major international consultancy in Hong Kong. There he was responsible for the project management and project review of a variety of infrastructure and building projects
in Hong Kong and China. Projects undertaken
included breweries, pharmaceutical and manufacturing plants, and
a number of buildings and facilities at Hong Kong’s new international
airport.
Now based in Queenstown New Zealand, Peter applies his expertise
to the successful development of infrastructure, winery, airport
and commercial building projects. Peter’s specialist fields
of activity are;
- Project start-ups including the set-up of management systems,
team organisations, quality systems, time and cost management
tools
- Feasibility analysis, functional planning and design development
for process and aviation facilities
- Review of projects on behalf of owners and financial institutions
- Project management of privately financed infrastructure projects
from bidding and financing through procurement, design and construction.
STAFF
Peak Projects International engages staff and consultants as necessary
for specific projects and tasks. Key full time staff members are;
Damien Barr : Project Manager
Damien joined Peak Projects in 2005 and has project managed a number of major Queenstown projects including Man Street Carpark and the Church Street development.
Damien studied Construction and Fire Technology in Ireland
followed by completion of a Project Management degree in Scotland.
Damien worked as an Assistant Project manager in Scotland on residential
town houses and apartment projects.
Damien is currently managing the final tenant fit-outs within the 8000m2 Church Street commercial development in central Queenstown and is involved in the development of lease-back rental car facilities at Queenstown Airport.
Paul Woodward: Project Manager and Construction Manager
Paul joined Peak Projects in 2007 and was immediately responsible for the project managment of the Jacks Point Golf Clubhouse building. he has subsequently managed a number of construction and fit-out projects including fit-outs at The Oak in Arrowtown, Queenstown Airport and an expansion project at Amisfield Winery, Lowburn.
Paul is a qualified builder and has over 11 years of self employment experience and over 20 years experience in the building industry. Prior to joining Peak Projects, Paul worked as an estimator and buyer for a major building materials company in Queenstown. Paul previously spent 3 years working for a Building Contractor on several large contracts including The Spire Hotel, Queenstown and several large residential projects.
Paul is currently construction manager for the fast-track $4million baggage make-up expansion project at Queenstown Airport.
Heather Black : Project Accountant and Office Manager
Heather has recently joined Peak Projects as Office Manager with a background in administration and management with consultant and contracting businesses.
Heather manages the day-to-day running of the office and maintains the project cost and document control systems.
CONSULTANTS
Consultants engaged by Peak Projects on a project by project basis are:
Kerryn Russell: Consultant Project Administrator
Kerryn has been based in the Wakatipu for over 17 years and has a background in financial administration and project support including experience on film projects and airports.
Kerryn previously worked at Peak Projects for 7 years as Office Manager, but now undertakes specific project based roles as project manager and administrator. Kerryn has also previously project managed several smaller projects including involvement in alterations to the Amisfield Lake Hayes cellar and restaurant.
John Soundy : Consultant
John has over 40 years experience in a variety of sectors including; mechanical engineering, marine, transportation and heavy steel structures. John has appeared as an expert witness and has an indepth knowledge of Transport and Labour department regulations for all types of vehicles, temporary structures and amusement devices.
He has recently supervised the refurbishment of a rescue fire appliance for Queenstown Airport and was also involved in the purchase of two new rescue fire appliances from Europe.
